APPLICATION OF POLYMER MATERIALS FOR ORGANIC LIQUID RADIOACTIVE WASTE IMMOBILIZATION

ANNOTATION:

The article gives an overview of published data on the experience of polymer materials usage for liquid organic radioactive waste management. The advantages and disadvantages of incineration, cementing and other methods are noted. Data on polymer polymeric materials usage for liquid organic radioactive waste treatment and the results of experiments conducted in V.G. Khlopin Radium Institute are presented. The advantages of polymers consist in the use of simple equipment, the minimum number of technological operations and the possibility of immobilizing liquid organic radioactive waste into polymer material for subsequent incineration (pyrolysis).
