ANNOTATION:

The article discusses the principles and approaches applied in the safety assessment of facilities based on the example of a modern tool DESTRUCT being currently developed. The code takes into account a set of processes associated with the evolution of engineered barrier system and is designed to predict the release of radionuclides from the near field.
