THE ANALYSIS OF LOCALIZATION AND THE SCENARIO OF EVOLUTION OF DGDF FOR RW AT THE YENISEISKY SITE (KRASNOYARSK REGION). JOURNAL: 2018, ¹3, p. 52-62

On the basis of the analysis of localization and evolution of the Deep Geological Disposal Facility (DGDF) for
Radioactive Waste (RW) at the Yeniseisky site the conclusion has been drawn that at placement of RW of classes 1 and
2 ensuring radiation safety of this object for, at least, several million years requires correction of some components of
the project. First, it is offered to carry out correction concerning the principles of interposition and spatial orientation
of groups of excavations for placement of packages with RW: to arrange them on bigger number of operating levels,
within smaller, but monolithic sites revealed at detailed investigation and to orient loading excavations according to geological structures. Secondly, correction of the project is necessary concerning use of alternative horizontal
placement of packages with RW of a class 1 in excavations. Thirdly, more reasonable choice of constructional and
barrier materials, for example, use of cast iron or stone casting instead of concrete is useful for the isolating container,
or calculation of sufficient thickness, density and optimum composition for bentonite and other clay materials and
mixes. Also other specific proposals are discussed.
