In article, the technologies of radwaste management arising in a decommissioning of research reactors of National
Research Center Kurchatov Institute are provided. The choice of technologies is justified by their safety, limitation of
qualified personnel, admissible personal and collective annual doses of radiation of a staff and the population, values
of standards for contamination of the environment, surrounding of the reactors in the densely populated region of
Moscow. All specified features were considered in the project of decommissioning of the MR and RFT research reactors.
Safety of the used technologies, the difficulties, which arose in the course of work on the project, are discussed.
Technologies of use of remotely controlled mechanisms jointly with means of remote radiometry and spectrometry
are provided. These technologies were used as at the dismantling the large-size equipment, so and at management
of high level radwaste. The main results of operations are summed up and recommendations about radiation safety
in case of the radwaste management are stated.
