INVESTIGATING THE GEOLOGICAL ENVIRONMENT AT THE YENISEISKY SITE: TASKS FOR THE CURRENT STAGE OF THE DISPOSAL PROJECT

JOURNAL: 2019, ¹7, p. 76-91

AUTHOR: B.T. Kochkin

ANNOTATION:

The article analyzes the current exploration level of hazardous geological features, events and processes in the area and on the Yeniseisky site. This territory in the Krasnoyarsk Krai was selected to host the first Russian repository for HLW, including those containing long-lived radionuclides. Analysis of the results of the work performed has shown that the level of exploration of the geological environment in this area is insufficient for unambiguous interpretation of data on the geological, structural, hydrogeological and other conditions of the location of the future facility. To clarify them, it is necessary to conduct additional research, mainly in the underground research laboratory, as well as on the surface.

Key words: radioactive waste, geological repository, safety assessment.
