Konovalov ANNOTATION: The paper considers the steps taken to upgrade the Long-Term Safety Case for Liquid Radioactive Waste Geological Repository (LRWGR) with due account of relevant international standards. The discussed activities are based on analytical and experimental studies aiming to decrease the uncertainties associated with the input data and to increase the reliability of scenarios describing LRWGR evolution. This work also involves the development of closure concepts for such facilities in line with current regulatory framework in the field of atomic energy use.
