ANALYSIS OF THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION REGULATORY FRAMEWORK REQUIREMENTS FOR DISPOSAL OF VERY LOW-LEVEL RADIOACTIVE WASTE

ANNOTATION:

The article describes existing practices of very low-level radioactive waste (VLLW) disposal and presents the analysis of the current Russian regulatory framework in the field of radioactive waste disposal, in particular, concerning the designs of VLLW disposal facilities. The article proposes and recommends some adjustment of the regulatory framework providing cost-effective and safe VLLW disposal.
