ON THE 20TH ANNIVERSARY OF THE JOINT CONVENTION ON THE SAFETY OF SPENT FUEL MANAGEMENT AND ON THE SAFETY OF RADIOACTIVE WASTE MANAGEMENT

ANNOTATION:
The article evaluates the efforts implemented by the Russian Federation on fulfilling the obligations arising from the Joint Convention undertaken since its ratification and their main results. It overviews the drivers that prompted the development of the Joint Convention, its goals and scope. The article also provides some suggestions seeking to improve the effectiveness of mechanisms for the selection of a best practice recently proposed under the Joint Convention.
