JOURNAL: 2025, ¹ 1 (30), p. 36-43

ANNOTATION:

The article summarizes the results of a bench test exploring treatment methods for chemically and radioactively contaminated soils referred to low-level waste (LLW) and restricted use materials resulting from the decommissioning of an industrial site at a nuclear-radiation hazardous facility (NRHF). The article presents the soil cleanup coefficients for radionuclides and chemical contaminants, as well as the main parameters of the treatment approach based on a combination of hydroseparation methods and subsequent ultrasonic soil treatment in reagent solutions. It also provides technical proposals on how the original soil, secondary radioactive waste and treatment products should be managed.

Keywords: radioactive waste, radioactively contaminated soil, hydroseparation, ultrasonic treatment, reagent treatment, chemical contamination, treatment product, cleanup coefficient.
