DEVELOPMENT OF CONCEPTS ON THE GEOLOGICAL STRUCTURE OF THE NEAR FIELD IN A DGR

JOURNAL: 2025, ¹ 4 (33), p. 94-104

AUTHORS: V.A. Minaev, B.T. Kochkin, V.V. Poluektov, V.A. Petrov

ANNOTATION:

The geological environmental conditions essential for the long-term safety of radioactive waste disposal are influ enced by several fundamental factors, including the features of the host rocks and faults inherent in the studied section of the geological massif. Uncertainties in the knowledge of the geological and structural features of the massif directly affect the reliability of predictive calculations of radionuclide migration required to demonstrate the RW disposal safety. The article shows how the progress in geological exploration eases the problems increasing the reliability of ideas about the geological environment at the Yeniseyskiy site, which is illustrated by several iterations of geological and structural models developed in different years. The article draws attention to the remaining uncer tainties associated with the geological structure that affect the safety assessment of the DGR and considers some options for further studies.

Keywords: disposal of radioactive waste, Yeniseyskiy site, rock massif, URL, DGR, geological and structural studies, radioactive waste.
